Monthly Fees

Monthly fees are averaged throughout the 10 months of the school year. Pro D Days and Winter/Spring Camps are not included in this fee and instead we use a top up method *See Katherine about this

Waitlist Policy

Please read carefully through the following information in order that you understand the process. A child is considered “on the waitlist” when a Waitlist application form is signed and returned to Sunflower.

No registration fee is required for the applicants on the waitlist

 

Priority Spots become available to persons on the Wait List only after the following priority groups have been admitted:

 

I. Children already attending Sunflower Before and After School care are given first priority for program selection, if spots are available in that program.

II. Siblings of those children currently attending the Child Care.

III. Children of present or past Board Members at Sunflower having served a minimum of 1 year on the Board

IV. Priority will be given to full time registration

Before/After School Program 

FAQ's

  • Is there a registration fee?
    All registrations require a $50 annual membership fee. New families are also required to pay for a one month deposit. This deposit will be used to cover your September enrollment and is non refundable.
  • When are fees processed?
    Fees are processed on the 1st of each month via Direct Deposit Payments, unless stated otherwise. Payment schedules are either January-June / September-June depending on your start date, preschool runs in term time only.
  • What if I want to withdraw my child from Sunflower?
    One calendar months notice is required if a child is withdrawn from the program or the following month will be charged.
  • Are there refunds for holidays or sick leave?
    There is no refund of fees for holidays or sick leave, or if a Statutory Holiday falls on a Preschool day. Public holidays and school holidays will be observed according to the Provincial School System, except in June and over Winter Break, when the last day of school will be determined by the Board and will vary from year to year. There are about 6-7 Professional Developmental Days set up throughout the year. The teachers at Sunflower will attend courses, workshops or professional events to enhance practice and the quality of education at the school. These will be noted in advance on the school calendar.
  • When do Sunflower classes run?
    Public holidays and school holidays will be observed according to the Provincial School System, except in June and over Winter Break, when the last day of school will be determined by the Board and will vary from year to year.
  • Does Sunflower take Professional Developmental Days off?
    There are six (6-7) Professional Development Days set up throughout the year. The teachers at Sunflower will be attending courses, workshops or professional events to enhance practice and the quality of education at the school. These will be noted in advance on the school calendar.
  • How old does my child need to be for entry into Preschool?
    Preschool for 3's: For entry in September, children must be 3 by December 31st. Preschool for 4's: For entry in September, children must be 4 by December 31st.
